I let my heart and impulses guide me, and trust that my wandering will lead me to happiness.
Welcome to my quirky little corner of the blogging world. Silly travel and nature posts, amateur photography, cultural foods, and odd hobbies.
My parents fled their country, I was born in a refugee camp, we immigrated- we had nothing. Today, I appreciate everything. I’ve been a female traveler for over 6 years to dozens of countries, and am an aspiring blogger.
Growing up in 3 different worlds and had a lot of trouble understanding why I’m different. I never quite belonged anywhere. Until I realized that it was okay. I’m given the life I have, I need to live it as I like it.
Today, I enjoy seeing as much of the world as possible. Trying to do as many new and unusual things as possible. I realize that a lot of things are out of my grasp, but have also figured out what the most important things in my life are.
I don’t count the countries I’ve been to, only the experiences I’ve had.
Moved to NYC for a year because I wanted to try it
Studied in Singapore
Climbed a volcano and watched it erupt through the night
Skydove
Scuba diving with whale sharks
Full moon party
Rode an elephant & ostrich
Rode in a hot air balloon
Motorbiked around Thailand & Vietnam
Rode a bullet train
Slept in capsule hotel
Hiked all the way down and up Grand Canyon in one day
Snorkel-ed with sharks and manta rays
Trekked in a jungle for 3 days
If you had asked me 5 years ago, if I would have done any of these things, I would have thought you were crazy. This is why I’m truly confident that with effort to do what you love, you will be happy.
It’s never too early and it’s never too late!
Thanks for stopping by!
Some things about me:
- I have not watched enough TV in my life, so don’t know most famous actresses, actors, or movies.
- I’m a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy genre books.
- I don’t like running or climbing stairs, but I love hiking, kayaking, scuba-diving, skydiving.
- My irrational fears: snakes crawling up from the toilet, tsunamis, worms, hallways/basements/elevators, and heights.
- My food fascinations: noodles, soups, eggs, potatoes, bitter melon, all things vegetarian.
Status: currently working from home, spending time with my family, and occasionally traveling with my loving partner and seeing the world.

Awesome! How did you get set up living in NYC for a year? It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but have been put off by visas etc! Is it tough?
Lizzie
NYC is probably not the best place to be in at the moment.. but basic rules of frugality! I can think of some more post ideas for that. 🙂
